Maybe this can be done better
maybe this is nothing to compare with
maybe this is a better past
and a wonderful future I dreamed of
since yesterday.

Maybe this is what I need to accept
maybe this is the “standard”
Maybe this is what other people told me about
But I could never believe it
since I only listen to
myself

Maybe this is the cold I can endure
maybe this is the heat which will not burn me
maybe this is the tears I need to cry
maybe this is the smile I need to see
to believe in something greater.
